Another New Character for Queen’s Blade Rebellion: Branwen

Here’s another great announcement from Bitoushi Blog: not only it’s another new character for Rebellion, but it’s a character drawn by Oda Non! Oda Non really raised the bar with Siggy and this new character is very promising to do it again!

Short introduction of Branwen, the “Enslaved Dragon Warrior”:

Who would believe that the proud warrior who rides dragons in the sky, also known as the “Dragon’s Child”, is now enslaved and forced to fight for her life against other slaves and monsters in the Marshlands Arena?

Her weapons are a crude and rusty sword and shield. She’s bound to a ball and chain attached to her leg and a “magical bondage tool”. Although she seems to be at disadvantage, she’s not a weak character; she can bring out an extreme destructive power when angered. (Looks like that she’s also a bit “M”.)

Behind her is her master, a goblin slave trader called Dogra.

Branwen‘s book is expected to be released around the same time of Liliana‘s (by the end of this year).

Good job, Oda Non-sensei! Very good job!

Cheerio!

Yeah, Oda Non pretty much is a guarantee she’ll be awesome!

Just one thing, though: I’m pretty sure it’s supposed to be Branwen, a character from the Celtic mythology and the usual way how it is romanized (can’t really trust the romanization even in the official page :P )

    • Fabio Says:

Thanks, leecherboy. For some reason, this time I just made a copypasta of the name without doing any research. Maybe I’m getting lazy…

  2. Luis Edgar Flores Gutierrez Says:

Does she is some kind of Berserker, judging with her description?

    • Fabio Says:

That’s a possibility. I’m waiting for a more detailed profile to be published in the official site soon.

Great new character! A truly excellent character design, and her background sounds pretty interesting too.

I’m not a fan of that goblin, but Branwen’s combat book promises to be excellent; hopefully as amazing as Shiggy’s book.

So the Marshland witch now has an arena? What has she been doing since the tournament @_@

    Hi Fabio,

    I recently found this:

Is this the rebellion version of Risty?

    • Wesley Says:

The tatoo is the same, same purple eyes, yet, somehow I doubt anyone would ever be able to tame her hair…

She’s beautiful just the same though. Queen’s Blade kind of lacks melee fighters. I think Vante was the first one to use her hands and fists.

    • CJ Says:

The katakana indicates it is indeed Risty – that’s quite the makeover she’s had!

  6. Durandal Says:

Sorry for the double post, but I just found what also seems to be the rebellion version of Menace:

Yeah that looks like them alright. Any way we could get scans of the book?

  8. Wintermute Says:

I’m really, really, really excited about this.
